I SEE YOUR TRUE COLORS (SHE SHINES FROM WITHIN) 2021-PRESENT
As I began photographing the Pride parades and taking portraits of members within the LGBTQIA+ community more often, I was able to come to terms with my own sense of self-exploration. I wanted to highlight the joy, elation, and vibrancy of my subjects and how they choose to celebrate their identities. I See Your True Colors (She Shines From Within) is an ongoing project that honors the various shades we come in — just like the rainbow. Our style, our aesthetic, and our individuality belongs to us and we must continue to shape and embrace it. As we make waves in mainstream society, we also must remember our history and those who have paved the way for us to effectively move forward.
